Barn Quilt Painting

Summary
The course will include a brief introduction to barn quilts and barn quilt painting along with demonstration, support, and assistance in learning and developing the skills needed to complete a barn quilt painting. Each barn quilt painting will meet the criteria required to be registered to the Columbus Country Barn Quilt Trail Project, an option available to Columbus Country residents. An art kit is required for this class. This can be purchased from Community Art Journey, a non-profit organization located in Lake Waccamaw. Students will be emailed a list of patterns to choose from prior to the start of class and opt to accept the colors shown in the example pattern or stop in at Community Art Journey to select their custom colors which will be provided in their kit at the first class. The kit price is $75.00 and includes: - 24" x 24" Aluminum Composite Material (ACM) board - prepped, primed, with pattern drawn and ready to paint - 1 roll of yellow frog tape (delicate surface painter's tape) - an ample amount of paint required to complete the project, packaged in air tight containers - sponge brushes (one for every color of paint in each kit) - plastic bags to keep the brushes from drying out between coats - Written instructions for reference - Contact information for questions, assistance needed beyond the end of the class. - Appropriate packaging for supplies
